Dear Palmetto Families & Staff,

As you are all very aware of the growing concerns of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Palmetto Family Homecare is actively monitoring and taking the necessary precautions for the safety of our clients and staff.  The health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance and we will continue to update you with changes in policies and procedures to deal with this

ever-growing issue.

We are following the policies and procedures of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Department of Health & Human Services (SCDHHS) and local service authorities. As we continue to monitor, we will always air on the side of safety which may cause for adjustments to services based upon the direction of the above officials.

EMPLOYEES please rely on management for everyday guidance and it is our responsibility to be available to answer any questions or concern that you might have. We are truly grateful for our employees and applaud each of you for the dedication and care you provide to our families during these uncertain times.

PARTICIPANTS AND FAMILIES please rest assured that we are reinforcing with our field and office staff some of the basic safety precautions to use to limit exposure to COVID-19 themselves and others.  Our goal is to ensure you are safe and continue to get the services that you need and are entitled to.

We will continue our regular service schedules as normal unless otherwise directed.  We strongly recommend ALL clients/families to have an alternative arrangement and/or backup plan in the event we are unable to provide services due to safety concerns.

HOW ARE WE KEEPING CLIENTS AND CAREGIVERS SAFE?

Here are a few daily safety tips that are implemented...

SAFETY TIPS:

With the uncertainty of this widespread illness here are a few steps to take to keep yourself and those around you safe:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds, especially after blowing your nose, coughing, sneezing; going to the bathroom and before eating and preparing food.

  •  Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands

  • Stay home when you are sick (cold or flu like symptoms)

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw it in the trash.
